Waka (和歌) is a female supporting character of Umetarou Nozaki's manga Let's Fall in Love. Her character takes inspiration from Hirotaka Wakamatsu. She tends to make very brief cameo appearances within the series.

Appearance

Waka has short hair and is often seen wearing her high school uniform, consisting of a long skirt that reaches to her knees and a top based off the sailor uniform.

Personality

Waka tends to get easily flustered when things go in the wrong direction. She makes spontaneous decisions, such as saying she'll go on a date with Oze even though she dislikes him.

When she is anxious, she often calms down by talking to a mysterious person over the phone, as they tell her encouraging messages. However, she does not know the person's true identity as Oze. This is a strong reference to Lorelei and Wakamatsu's relationship.

Waka strongly dislikes Oze due to his brash personality, but can tolerate him, mirroring the relationship between Wakamatsu and Seo. Unbeknownst to her, Oze is actually her encourager. Waka also acts rather brash around him and makes impulsive decisions, such as agreeing to go out with him again even though she thinks she hates him.

Trivia

• Nozaki intends to make sure Waka never finds out that Oze is actually the person that's encouraging her.
• Waka (和歌) is written with different kanji from Wakamatsu's name (若), which is likely the reason as to why Wakamatsu doesn't realize that he is the model for her character.
• Most of Nozaki's fans like the relationship built between her and Oze, seeking for further development, as shown by Ken Miyamae's request to make a date happen between them due to positive reception.
