Summary[]

Ken-san sends a text message to Umetarou Nozaki informing him that he is still waiting to read his horror story special. Therefore, once again Nozaki, along with Yuu Kashima and Masayuki Hori go to school at night to have a test of courage and come up with some material that Nozaki will be able to use for his manga. However, since none of them are really scared, Nozaki realizes he chose the wrong people. Nevertheless, he decides to proceed with both of them. Nozaki assigns the roles; although Kashima at first tries to be the heroine, Nozaki ends up with the role as his trademark character “Umeko.”

As they walk through the school, Nozaki thinks that in this situation he is Mamiko; Kashima is Suzuki; and Hori-senpai is the “love rival.” He rapidly jots down some notes for his storyboard. Suddenly Kashima receives a call from Mikoto Mikoshiba, and she informs him that he should address her as “Mamiko” right now, completely confusing the latter.

Afterwards, they make up their own ghost stories in an attempt to scare each other. Unfortunately, they don’t have the desired effect, especially since Nozaki’s stories all have happy endings. Finally, Nozaki contently leaves, saying he is going to write out some stories for his shojo manga. Hori-senpai tells Kashima that they can continue the test of courage together with some of his own horror stories. These stories completely scare Kashima. Hori gleefully informs Nozaki that “the cute kouhai” is actually quite cute when she is scared.

Lastly, Nozaki shares the story he wrote with Ken-san, but the “love rival” turned out to be the winner, and Nozaki despairingly admits he couldn’t come up with a good story at all.
