Summary[]
Hirotaka Wakamatsu decides that he wants to set a goal for the summer. Umetarou Nozaki is willing to support him, but he begs Wakamatsu to stop using shoujo manga as a reference. Wakamatsu then states that he would like to remake himself—someone as thick skinned as Suzuki-kun would be nice since he is perfectly fine after delivering such “smooth” lines.
Therefore, Nozaki introduces Wakamatsu to someone who is even better than Suzuki. Entering the drama room, Wakamatsu is surprised to see Yuu Kashima speaking so effortlessly to a girl. He is impressed that she is so confident as an actor. Suddenly, however, an announcement is then made that all non-club members should leave. Stunned, Wakamatsu realizes that Kashima is like that in real life.
Wakamatsu then explains to Masayuki Hori that he wants to “train his mind.” Wakamatsu then immediately goes up to Kashima and asks help in training him. Hori is surprised that they know each other. After hearing the whole story from Kashima, exceedingly embarrassing Wakamatsu, Hori, and Nozaki conclude that he is pretty thick skinned already.
Nevertheless, Kashima starts training Wakamatsu, but she after observing him, she deduces that he is a hopeless idiot. To help him work up his nerve, she offers him a “mask” that he can wear as he delivers his lines. Consequently, Wakamatsu transforms so radically that everyone is left shocked and amazed. Even the other members of the drama club are scared of the new Wakamatsu. Kashima and Hori assure everyone he will change back after they are done practicing. However, Wakamatsu doesn’t change back, astonishing the pair, and leaves.
In his new transformation, Wakamatsu then goes to basketball practice. However, Yuzuki Seo succeeds in quickly reverting him back to normal. She then brings an unconscious Wakamatsu to Nozaki. After regaining consciousness, Wakamatsu laughs it off, adding that he feels like he lost some of his memories too. Nozaki thinks that it is possible such a dramatic change in personality is part of his deeper self. However, this theory is disproven immediately as soon as Nozaki catches Wakamatsu “researching” more manga characters, annoying Nozaki once again.
