Summary[]
Different editors have different ways of conveying their messages for the cover art to their writers. Yukari Miyako confesses that she has a hard time, but Nozaki-kun must have had an easy time with no confusion with the requests. However, he proves that he has also had problems in the past.
At Nozaki’s place, Chiyo Sakura comments that it is rare to see Nozaki coloring the backgrounds. Nozaki works hard to produce a beautiful cover, but when the magazine uses it, they completely crop out the background, enraging him. When he decides not to try hard (where the text usually is), they remove the words.
Presently, Ken-san uses rough drawings to convey to Nozaki what he wants drawn. However, with each drawing, Nozaki comes up with different sketches and different responses. Even Mitsuya Maeno offers his standard “help”, but to no avail. Furthermore, Ken-san discovers that Maeno is a better artist than he is. When he meets up with Nozaki, he gloomily comments that it must be nice to be able to draw so well. An elated Nozaki, in an earnest effort to compliment Ken-san, replies that his level is the same as a school kid’s.
Later, when Nozaki meets Sakura, he despondently tells Sakura the story, adding that Ken-san had a very sullen look on his face. Shocked, Sakura asks what Nozaki said to him.
