Summary[]
Ken Miyamae asks Umetarou Nozaki if he can draw “mini characters” since the company is planning to sell “manga-related merchandise.” Although Nozaki tries to, he can’t quite grasp the concept. Desperate, he turns to Yukari Miyako for advice. She asks him to consider using animals instead of the main characters. Nozaki thinks that he could pick an animal which would be like a mascot for his manga.
The next day, he unexpectedly arrives at the art club, surprising the members. He quietly sits and molds out some animals. Chiyo Sakura arrives and shocked to see Nozaki, asks him what is wrong. He tells her there is something he wanted to discuss with her-about creating a mascot character for the manga. Although she at first misunderstands, thinking it will be like Miyako-san’s tanuki, Nozaki explains it is just for merchandise use. Finally, even though there are countless misunderstandings from her club members, Sakura and Nozaki manage to resolve the situation by making a salmon mascot. Nozaki chose a salmon due to Miyamae saying that he liked salmon once.
