Summary[]
A frustrated Umetarou Nozaki wonders how he can make the Mamiko and Suzuki’s love story more exciting-something that will leave him hanging onto the edge of his seat. However, after consulting with Chiyo Sakura, he concludes that neither dramatic events, nor “props” help. Sakura tells him that she is actually looking for something more surprising-like an unexpected gift or gesture. Nozaki immediately pulls out a “Bon Festival Gift” and tries to force Sakura to take it. Finally, Nozaki decides he’ll set up some “exciting developments” for Sakura the next day at school.
Throughout the day, Nozaki tries out all kinds of different ideas. Sakura is happy with some of them, but other ones just annoy and shock her. When Nozaki’s classmate sees them, he tells Nozaki to stop it—he’s not a grade school kid who pulls pranks on the girls. The boy is amazed when Nozaki informs him that they agreed to this. Furthermore, Nozaki adds that he would love his help—he is running out of ideas, and Sakura is going to get bored.
Finally, on the way home, Sakura expects Nozaki to do something. However, he tells her he just wanted to walk home with her. Nozaki then informs Ken Miyamae of the scenario he wrote with a highschool girl’s reactions in mind. Although Ken-san is at first optimistic at its realism, he concludes that this is actually turning “Let’s Love” into a cooking manga.
