Summary[]
Ken Miyamae says that with the next release of Let's Love, there will be a popularity poll. Umetarou Nozaki assures him that Mamiko and Suzuki will be 1st and 2nd, but is upset to discover that the interim results show that Suzuki's rival and a teacher took 1st and 2nd place instead. Ken suggests that Nozaki could influence his readers with his next chapter by showing off Suzuki's charm. However, Nozaki takes this too literally by making Suzuki beg for votes, and making the 1st place person seem like he doesn't care about the poll. Meanwhile, he creates a scandal with the teacher by revealing that he's already married.
Nozaki then goes to Chiyo Sakura and the art club for advice since they are made up of all girls. When Nozaki asks for their opinions on his manga, the club members all say that they liked minor, background characters. They suggest that he could get Suzuki to 1st place if he turned everyone else into animals, or made all of the boys Suzuki. Sakura told them to stop joking around, or the manga would actually end up with multiple Suzukis.
Just then, Yuzuki Seo shows up and asks Sakura if she can tie her necktie for her. Nozaki is shocked that Seo is so smooth, but Sakura is unable to tie the necktie. Nozaki ends up helping Seo, and asks if she has any ideas on how to make Suzuki more popular. Seo suggests doubling everything that Suzuki does. When he goes to thank her, he calls her Sakura, because Sakura had been walking around Nozaki the whole time, jealous that he had tied Seo's necktie for her.
As Nozaki also ties a necktie around Sakura, he figures that he could use subliminal stimuli to make Suzuki more popular too. He attempts this by putting Suzuki into every panel of his manga, but Ken exclaims that he can't pay attention to the plot this way. In the end, Nozaki makes an Oze-centered chapter based on Seo asking for help with her necktie, while also including the scandal with the teacher. Suzuki is only bumped up to 3rd place, but Nozaki gets lots of good drawings of Suzuki from the art club members. Included amongst the drawings is one of a background character which had originally been drawn by Yukari Miyako.
