Summary[]
In an effort to get Hirotaka Wakamatsu to believe she is Lorelei, Yuzuki Seo attempts to earn his trust. When this backfires, Umetarou Nozaki tells Chiyo Sakura that he enjoys seeing Wakamatsu give Seo the cold shoulder since he thinks that's what she deserves. Nozaki goes on to explain that in manga, stories where the hero is cruel to the heroine only to get what they deserve later have a sense of catharsis. He also adds that sometimes the hero ends up back with the heroine if he works hard and has a change of heart.
Sakura then enthusiastically talks to Yukari Miyako about this type of manga, and points out that in some stories, the heroine gets together with a new guy instead. Nozaki and Miyako tell Sakura that they can tell who the heroine will get together with, because she will always end up with the more attractive guy. This is until they discover a new manga where the three possible suitors are all equally attractive.
When Sakura talks to Mikoto Mikoshiba about the subject, she mentions that she doesn't think it will help in real life since Nozaki wouldn't betray her. Mikoshiba points out that Nozaki could theoretically get a girlfriend and flirt around with her while forcing Sakura to work for him. He also realizes that since Nozaki can already do beta work without Sakura's help, he wouldn't be affected much if she left. He would only get upset if the person doing backgrounds left. This makes Sakura jealous of Masayuki Hori.
In order to take out her sadness on Hori, Sakura attempts to make him feel bad by having him imagine scenarios where Yuu Kashima betrays him. When this is ineffective, Mikoshiba tells Hori to imagine if a new student made Kashima shine more on the stage than he could. This makes Hori incredibly jealous.
Upset by what Sakura and Mikoshiba made him imagine, Hori instructs Nozaki to put Sakura in a better mood. Nozaki offers Sakura three cushions to sit on, but since she isn't interested, he jokingly asks if she wants to sit on his lap instead. Sakura enthusiastically takes him up on this offer.
Sakura gleefully tells Seo about this turn of events, stating that she and Nozaki must be really close now. Seo, still attempting to get closer to Wakamatsu, sits on his lap. This only makes Wakamatsu think her bullying is getting worse.
